<h1>Backup & Restore</h1>
|
|
<p class="page-subtitle">Protect your Huntarr configuration with automatic and manual backups.</p>

<h2>Overview</h2>
|
|
<ul>

|
<li>Huntarr can backup its entire database (settings, schedules, history, etc.)</li>
|
|
<li>Backups are stored as files in your /config/backups directory</li>
|
|
<li>Both automatic and manual backups are supported</li>
|
|
<li>Restore from any backup to recover your configuration</li>
|
|

<h2>Creating a Manual Backup</h2>
|
|
<ol>
|
|
<li>Go to Settings > Backup & Restore</li>
|
|
<li>Click "Create Backup"</li>
|
|
<li>A backup file is created with a timestamp</li>
|
|
<li>The backup appears in the list below</li>
|
|
</ol>

|
|
|
<h2>Automatic Backups</h2>
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>Huntarr creates automatic backups on a schedule</li>
|
|
<li>Configure the interval in Settings</li>
|
|
<li>Old backups are automatically cleaned up based on retention settings</li>
|
|

<h2>Restoring from Backup</h2>
|
|
<ol>
|
|
<li>Go to Settings > Backup & Restore</li>
|
|
<li>Find the backup you want to restore</li>
|
|
<li>Click "Restore"</li>
|
|
<li>Confirm the action</li>
|
|
<li>Huntarr restarts with the restored configuration</li>
|
|
</ol>

<strong>Restoring a backup</strong>
|
|
<p>Restoring a backup replaces ALL current settings. This action cannot be undone. Make sure you have a current backup before restoring an older one.</p>
|

|
<h2>Uploading a Backup</h2>
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>You can upload a backup file from another Huntarr instance</li>
|
|
<li>Useful for migrating between servers</li>
|
|
<li>Click "Upload Backup" and select the file</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Deleting the Database</h2>
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>In emergencies, you can delete the entire Huntarr database</li>
|
|
<li>This resets Huntarr to a fresh state (setup wizard appears)</li>
|
|
<li>All settings, schedules, and history are lost</li>
|
|
</ul>

<strong>Deleting the database</strong>
|
|
<p>Deleting the database is irreversible. Only use this as a last resort if your database is corrupted and cannot be restored from backup.</p>
|

<h2>Tips</h2>
|
|
<ul>

|
<li>Create a backup before major changes (new apps, schedule overhauls)</li>
|
|
<li>Keep at least 3 recent backups</li>
|
|
<li>Test restoring from backup periodically to ensure they work</li>
|
|
<li>Store backup files externally for disaster recovery</li>
|
|
