The AI-assistant policy says an AI agent must never add a Signed-off-by
trailer, because only a human can certify the DCO. That is right for the
case it was written for: an assistant helping a contributor who then
signs off themselves.
It does not fit automation a maintainer runs. Those pull requests have no
human submitter, so nothing ever signs and the DCO check blocks them
permanently. Sixty-one open pull requests from the maintenance bot are in
exactly that state, every one of them correctly following the documented
rule.
Carve out the case: automation a maintainer operates signs off with that
maintainer's identity. The maintainer certifies the DCO, as they do for a
commit they typed by hand, because they configured the automation, own
its output, and take responsibility on merge. The Assisted-by trailer
still records that a model wrote the code, so provenance is unchanged.
Keep the exception narrow. An assistant helping an outside contributor
still must not sign off, and a bot must not sign for anyone but its
operator, including on a contributor's branch it pushes to.

Remove the versioned pre-commit hook and its installer while retaining CI coverage and conformance checks.

The UI coverage gate was tightened to 0.1pp against a fast-local
measurement (39.86% baseline); CI's slower runners measure ~0.9pp lower,
so tests-ui-e2e failed there. UI e2e coverage is diffusely
non-deterministic and tracks machine speed — a 0.1pp band can't hold
across environments.
Rather than loosen the gate, raise the floor under it: a render-smoke
spec mounts each lazy page (navigate + assert the header renders),
covering a dozen previously-untested pages and lifting coverage from
~39% to ~42.7% locally. Restore the tolerance to 0.8pp and set the
baseline conservatively (40.0), below the slow-CI floor, so the ratchet
holds without flapping.
Document the coverage policy — install the git hooks and don't bypass
them (no --no-verify, no hand-lowering the baseline or widening the
tolerance); raise coverage by adding tests instead; set the UI baseline
below the slow-CI floor — in AGENTS.md, CONTRIBUTING.md and
.agents/building-and-testing.md.

- Strict monotonic Go coverage gate (make test-coverage-check, 45% baseline)
run in CI; fixes ginkgo dropping all-but-one coverprofile across multiple
recursive roots, builds with -tags auth, and folds in the in-process
tests/e2e suite via --coverpkg.
- React UI e2e coverage (make test-ui-coverage: vite-plugin-istanbul + nyc,
nix-provided Chromium) plus e2e specs for 6 previously-untested pages, and a
UI coverage gate (make test-ui-coverage-check) with a small tolerance since
e2e line coverage jitters ~0.5pp run-to-run.
- pre-commit hook: lint + coverage on Go changes, Playwright e2e + UI coverage
gate on react-ui changes; install with make install-hooks.
- New Go handler tests (settings, branding), hermetic base64 download test.
- fix(ui): model editor reads vram_display (snake_case), so the VRAM estimate
renders again; covered by a regression test.

Align LocalAI with the Linux kernel project's policy for AI-assisted
contributions (https://docs.kernel.org/process/coding-assistants.html).
- Add .agents/ai-coding-assistants.md with the full policy adapted to
LocalAI's MIT license: no Signed-off-by or Co-Authored-By from AI,
attribute AI involvement via an Assisted-by: trailer, human submitter
owns the contribution.
- Surface the rules at the entry points: AGENTS.md (and its CLAUDE.md
symlink) and CONTRIBUTING.md.
- Publish a user-facing reference page at
docs/content/reference/ai-coding-assistants.md and link it from the
references index.

AIO images are behind, and takes effort to maintain these. Wizard and
installation of models have been semplified massively, so AIO images
lost their purpose.
This allows us to be more laser focused on main images and reliefes
stress from CI.
