A GitHub release body needs publicly reachable URLs. Drag-and-dropped media lives on GitHub's user-attachments CDN, which has no CLI, and release-asset URLs carry the tag, so they 404 the moment an untagged draft becomes v4.8.0. Committing the media and pointing raw.githubusercontent at master is the one path that survives publishing, and it is already how the notes embed the logo. Four files, 1.4 MB, flat in website/static/media/ next to the existing clips. A website/static/media/release/ subdirectory looked tidier but is swallowed by the bare `release/` rule at .gitignore:52, which matches a directory of that name at any depth. - v4-8-0-ui-home.png Home, dark theme, the recommendation lanes - v4-8-0-ui-model-variants.png the rail and detail pane from #11288, with all four pocket-35b variants and the AUTO-SELECTED badge - v4-8-0-ui-activity.png four live installs across both lanes, the Pause control from #11222, the collapsed strip and the sidebar count - 3d-generation.gif the 3D viewer clip as a GIF, since a raw-URL mp4 does not render inline in a release body. Sibling of the existing 3d-generation.mp4, no version prefix because it is reusable. Screenshots are version-prefixed because UI captures date quickly; #11288, #11305, #11307 and #11222 all changed these pages inside this cycle. All captured 2026-08-04 from a real local-ai built from master against the live gallery with real installs running, not the mock harness.
