Simon McVittie 9d26ea5f1e test-run: Check that the way com.valvesoftware.Steam behaves still works ...

This use of symlinks to ensure that the canonicalized paths of
`$XDG_CACHE_HOME`, `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME`, `$XDG_DATA_HOME` are
`~/.cache`, `~/.config`, `~/.local/share` is the sort of thing that
could easily regress if not tested.
