180aee9ba5 fix: handle lockfile conflicts in optimistic install (#11605)
* fix: handle lockfile conflicts in optimistic install

* test: move sharedWorkspaceLockfile out of WorkspaceState.settings

`sharedWorkspaceLockfile` is not in `WORKSPACE_STATE_SETTING_KEYS`, so
placing it inside `WorkspaceState.settings` broke type checking. Pass
it directly on the `CheckDepsStatusOptions` instead.

* chore: add lockfile/fs project reference to installing/commands tsconfig

`@pnpm/lockfile.fs` was added as a runtime dependency but the tsconfig
project references were not updated. meta-updater enforces this in CI.

* perf: restore optimistic-repeat-install fast-path for conflict-free state

The first iteration of the conflict-detection fix unconditionally read
pnpm-lock.yaml on every install - once in installDeps and again inside
checkDepsStatus - defeating the point of optimisticRepeatInstall, which
was to skip reading the lockfile entirely when nothing changed.

Restore the fast path by:

- Dropping the redundant lockfile read from installDeps. checkDepsStatus
  already returns upToDate: false when the lockfile is conflicted, so
  the pre-check was dead weight.
- Gating the conflict check inside checkDepsStatus on the lockfile's
  mtime: if it hasn't been touched since the last successful install,
  it cannot have grown conflict markers, so the read is skipped.

Conflict markers introduced after a successful install (e.g. via
git pull/merge) still update the lockfile mtime, so the correctness
fix is preserved.

* perf: make lockfile-conflict check synchronous

findConflictedLockfileDir awaits its work serially with no concurrent
operations to interleave, so the async overhead (Promise.all microtasks,
event-loop hops) buys nothing. Convert to a plain for-loop with
fs.statSync and a new wantedLockfileHasMergeConflictsSync export.

Also resolves a test-mock issue: the previous version called safeStat
from deps/status, which is jest-mocked across the test file. The mocked
safeStat returned undefined (or stale stats from earlier tests), causing
the conflict check to silently no-op. Switching to fs.statSync bypasses
the mock and gets the real mtime of the temp lockfile the regression
tests write.

50b33c1e6b fix: address open CodeQL findings (#11609)
Resolves the 15 open alerts on https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/code-scanning by addressing all four categories that CodeQL flagged.

### Prototype-polluting assignment (3 alerts, product code)
- `pkg-manifest/utils/src/convertEnginesRuntimeToDependencies.ts`: the inner write now dispatches over a literal `switch` on `runtimeName`, so the assignment is always keyed by `'node' | 'deno' | 'bun'`.
- `pkg-manifest/utils/src/updateProjectManifestObject.ts`: added an `isProtoPollutionKey` barrier at the top of the loop so `packageSpec.alias` can never reach the dynamic property write with `__proto__` / `constructor` / `prototype`.
- `installing/deps-installer/src/uninstall/removeDeps.ts`: the package list is filtered through `isProtoPollutionKey` once up front, and the dependency record is captured into a local before the loop.

### Polynomial ReDoS (2 alerts)
- `deps/inspection/list/src/renderDependentsTree.ts`: `replace(/\n+$/, '')` swapped for a constant-time `charCodeAt` trim.
- `resolving/npm-resolver/src/fetch.ts`: removed the super-linear-backtracking `semverRegex` and replaced it with an O(n) `stripTrailingSemverSuffix` that splits on the rightmost `@` and `semver.valid`s, with a digit-block fallback so `foo1.0.0`-style names still produce the existing "Did you mean foo?" hint.

### Bad code sanitization (8 alerts, test infrastructure)
- `__utils__/test-ipc-server/src/TestIpcServer.ts`: the `JSON.stringify(...).slice(1, -1)` smell at the source of all 8 test-file alerts is gone. Both `sendLineScript` and `generateSendStdinScript` now build the JS source with plain `JSON.stringify` and delegate shell wrapping to a new `wrapNodeEval` helper that escapes `\\` and `"` for the outer double-quoted shell argument.

### Incomplete sanitization (2 alerts, test file)
- `releasing/commands/test/publish/oidcProvenance.test.ts`: `.replace('/', '%2f')` → `.replaceAll(...)` on both flagged lines.

02e9cf5b67 fix(deps.status): skip engine check when scanning workspace projects (#11592)
* fix(deps.status): skip engine check when scanning workspace projects

checkDepsStatus (run by verifyDepsBeforeRun) called findWorkspaceProjects
without a nodeVersion, so the engine check fell back to the system Node from
PATH and emitted spurious "Unsupported engine" warnings before scripts ran.
The actual install still does engine validation; a status check shouldn't.

* test(pnpm): cover engine warning regression for verifyDepsBeforeRun

* docs(changeset): clarify scope of the skipped validation

* test(pnpm): also check stderr for unsupported engine warning

8543b89fb2 feat: view command display published time (#11532)
* **New Features**
  * `pnpm view` now shows publish age (e.g., "published 2 hours ago") and, when available, publisher attribution ("by …"); invalid or future timestamps fall back to "just now".
  * Console styling for package metadata (name/version, license, counts, links, dependencies, maintainers) was improved for readability.

* **Tests**
  * Added tests verifying the published timestamp and publisher attribution appear in `pnpm view` output.

38bdfefdf9 fix: upgrade @pnpm/semver-diff and @pnpm/colorize-semver-diff to v2 (#11555)
- Upgrade `@pnpm/semver-diff` and `@pnpm/colorize-semver-diff` to v2, which expose the helpers as named exports.
- Update the call sites in `@pnpm/deps.inspection.commands` and `@pnpm/installing.commands` from `semverDiff.default(...)` / `colorizeSemverDiff.default(...)` to plain `semverDiff(...)` / `colorizeSemverDiff(...)`.
- Refactor `buildPkgChoice` in `getUpdateChoices.ts` to build the row as a `string[]`. Previously the row was an object whose values relied on `nextVersion` being inferred as `any` (a side effect of the broken `.default` access poisoning the type) — that masked `outdatedPkg.current` and `outdatedPkg.workspace` being `string | undefined`. With the v2 named imports the types tighten up, and `Object.values(lineParts)` would no longer assign cleanly to `string[]`.

The previous v1 packages exported their helpers as `module.exports.default = fn`, so `.default(...)` only worked through the legacy CJS interop — and it broke under Node.js ESM (which is what the Jest runner uses with `--experimental-vm-modules`). Most of the `deps/inspection/commands` outdated tests had been silently failing on `main` with `TypeError: semverDiff.default is not a function`; this change brings them back.

0477da503b feat: implement native 'pnpm bugs' command (#11493)
Adds a native `pnpm bugs` command (npm-compatible) that opens a package's bug tracker URL in the browser.

- With no arguments, reads `bugs` / `repository` from the current project's `package.json`.
- With one or more package names, fetches each package's metadata from the registry (via `fetchPackageInfo`, so auth, scoped names, and proxies are handled) and opens its bug tracker.
- Falls back to `<repository>/issues` when `bugs` is missing, normalizing `git+`, `.git`, `git://`, and `git@github.com:` forms first.
- Implemented in `@pnpm/deps.inspection.commands` alongside `docs`, reusing the `open` package for cross-platform browser launching.

Picked up from #11279 (kairosci's branch) and reworked per @zkochan's review:
- moved out of `pnpm/src/cmd/` into the inspection commands package
- supports `pnpm bugs [<pkgname> [<pkgname> ...]]` per npm
- proper scoped-name encoding via the npm resolver
- changeset split (no more `bins.linker` bump)
- dropped unrelated test/build noise

Closes #11279.

ab6c42d99e fix: refresh ignored builds when allowBuilds changes (#11366)
* fix: refresh ignored builds when allowBuilds changes

* refactor: extract isBuildExplicitlyDisallowed into @pnpm/building.policy

Removes the duplicated ignored-build filter from deps-installer and
deps-restorer and exposes it as `isBuildExplicitlyDisallowed` on
`@pnpm/building.policy`, alongside `createAllowBuildFunction`.

* fix: respect ignoredWorkspaceStateSettings in allowBuilds stale-state check

The fallback that flagged installs when allowBuilds went from unset to
non-empty bypassed the ignoredSettings filter, so callers that explicitly
opted out of allowBuilds tracking (via ignoredWorkspaceStateSettings)
could still be forced into a redundant install.

Currently only supported for cyclonedx. Allowed values are 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7 (defaulting to 1.7); the lower bound is 1.5 because the generated JSON uses fields (e.g. `metadata.lifecycles`) that are only valid from CycloneDX 1.5+.

0b2f86ee86 fix: render peer dependency issues on strict error (#11450)
Fixes #11439.

When `strictPeerDependencies: true` causes `ERR_PNPM_PEER_DEP_ISSUES`, the peer dependency issues are again rendered inline — using the **same format as `pnpm peers check`** — so users (and CI tools like Renovate) can see what failed without running another command.

The non-strict warning path is unchanged: it still emits the short "Run `pnpm peers check`" hint.

### Behavior

`strictPeerDependencies: true`:
```
 ERR_PNPM_PEER_DEP_ISSUES  Unmet peer dependencies
✕ unmet peer react
  Installed: 17.0.2
  Wanted:
    ^18.2.0:
      react-dom@18.2.0
hint: To disable failing on peer dependency issues, add the following to pnpm-workspace.yaml in your project root:
  strictPeerDependencies: false
```

`strictPeerDependencies: false` (unchanged):
```
 WARN  Issues with peer dependencies found. Run "pnpm peers check" to list them.
```

### Implementation

- Added a new `@pnpm/deps.inspection.peers-issues-renderer` package at `deps/inspection/peers-issues-renderer/`, alongside its data producer `@pnpm/deps.inspection.peers-checker`. It exposes a single `renderPeerIssues()` that emits the flat issue list previously inlined in `pnpm peers check`.
- Removed the duplicated formatter from `deps/inspection/commands/src/peers.ts` and made the `pnpm peers check` command consume the new renderer.
- `cli/default-reporter/src/reportError.ts`: `reportPeerDependencyIssuesError` now calls the shared `renderPeerIssues()` and prefixes the hint block with the rendered output. Tests strip ANSI escapes before substring assertions so they stay correct under `FORCE_COLOR=1`.

Result: a single renderer is shared between the install error and the `pnpm peers check` command — output is identical between the two paths.

72629fc611 fix(list): honor --json and --parseable for pnpm -g ls (#11451)
Restores `--json` / `--parseable` / `--long` support on `pnpm -g ls` and tightens `--depth>0` semantics around isolated global installs. Closes #11440.

- **`--json` / `--parseable` (the regression):** aggregate global packages from all isolated install dirs into a single synthesized `PackageDependencyHierarchy` and dispatch to the existing `renderJson` / `renderParseable` / `renderTree`. Output shape matches pnpm 10 (`result[0].dependencies[name].version`), so tools like `npm-check-updates` work again.
- **`--depth>0`:** the v11 architecture installs each global package into its own isolated dir with its own lockfile, so merging transitive trees across installs would be incoherent. New behavior:
  - One global install dir total → fast-path delegate to the regular `list` flow with `params` unchanged, so `listForPackages` can match top-level *or* transitive packages.
  - Multiple installs, params narrow to one install dir (top-level alias match) → drop the params and render that install dir's full tree.
  - Multiple installs, params don't narrow → throw `ERR_PNPM_GLOBAL_LS_DEPTH_NOT_SUPPORTED` with a message asking the user to filter to a single global package or omit `--depth`.

The regression was introduced by the isolated global packages refactor (#10697), which added a custom `listGlobalPackages` shortcut that always returned plain text and ignored format flags.

6ac06cbed4 feat(audit): add registry signature verification (#11405)
* feat(audit): add registry signature verification

* chore: add registry signature terms to cspell

* chore: sort cspell registry terms

* refactor(audit): use repo concurrency and error helpers

* refactor(audit): use registry fetch helper for signatures

* refactor(audit): share audit command context

* fix(audit): respect scoped registries for signatures

* fix(audit): handle missing signature metadata gracefully

* docs(audit): document signature verification

* test(audit): avoid signature spellcheck false positives

* chore(audit): add scoped registry project reference

* refactor(audit): clarify signature verification fetching

* style(audit): align signature verifier formatting

* fix(audit): validate signature metadata shape and report cleanly

* fix(audit): handle crypto.verify throws on malformed registry keys

A registry returning malformed PEM key material made verifier.verify throw
synchronously, rejecting the Promise.all and crashing the whole audit run.
Treat any verify failure as an invalid signature for that single package.

* refactor(audit): extract parseJsonResponse helper

Both fetchRegistryKeys and fetchPackument repeated the same JSON.parse +
PnpmError wrapping pattern. Collapse into a single helper.

* refactor(audit): split signature verification into its own package

Move verifySignatures from @pnpm/deps.compliance.audit into a new
@pnpm/deps.compliance.signatures package. Vulnerability auditing and
signature verification are conceptually distinct trust subsystems, and
sigstore provenance verification is in scope for a future change — keeping
all signature work in its own package avoids growing the audit module into
two unrelated concerns.

* docs(audit): drop signature verification section

The signature verification implementation moved to
@pnpm/deps.compliance.signatures; that package's README documents the
behavior. The audit package no longer needs to mention it.

* refactor(signatures): move package to deps/security

Place the new signature verification package under deps/security/ rather
than deps/compliance/. Compliance is a fuzzy fit for tamper detection;
security is the right home, and sigstore provenance verification (future
scope) will live alongside it. Existing audit/license/sbom packages stay
where they are — this only changes where the new package lands.

685a3694c3 fix(global): avoid doubled modulesDir in approve-builds during global add (#11404)
* fix(global): avoid doubled modulesDir when approving builds in global add

The global add → approve-builds flow used to forward an absolute
`modulesDir` (`<installDir>/node_modules`) into the install run by
`approve-builds`. The install layer treats `modulesDir` as a path
relative to `lockfileDir` and joins it again — producing a doubled
path on Windows because `path.join` does not collapse an embedded
absolute path. The hoist step then failed with `ENOENT` while trying
to symlink under `<installDir>\<installDir>\node_modules\.pnpm\...`.

Closes #11403.

* test: type test fixtures correctly

* fix(install): tolerate absolute modulesDir in headless install context

Replace the prior unit test (which only checked the call shape) with an
integration test that exercises `install()` with an absolute `modulesDir`
through both the regular and frozen-lockfile paths — the failure mode the
global add → approve-builds chain originally hit on Windows.

`headlessInstall` and `readProjectsContext` now resolve `modulesDir` via
`pathAbsolute` instead of `path.join(lockfileDir, modulesDir)`, so an
absolute value no longer produces a doubled prefix. The
`promptApproveGlobalBuilds` change from the previous commit is retained
as the contract-level fix.

* test: add e2e test driving the pnpm CLI with --modules-dir=<abs>

Replace the programmatic install() regression test with an e2e test in
pnpm/test/install/absoluteModulesDir.ts that runs the bundled pnpm
binary with `pnpm install --modules-dir=<abs>` (regular and frozen).
This is the closest CLI-level reproduction of the doubled-prefix path
bug from #11403 — the bug fired specifically in the headless install
path that --frozen-lockfile triggers.

* test(global): drive add -g + approve-builds chain end-to-end

Add an e2e test that runs the bundled pnpm CLI through the full
`pnpm add -g <pkg-with-build>` → approve-builds → install chain that
produced the doubled-prefix `ENOENT` in #11403.

The chain only fires when `process.stdin.isTTY` is true, which CI
subprocesses don't satisfy. Add a test-only env var
`PNPM_AUTO_APPROVE_BUILDS_FOR_TESTS` that bypasses the TTY guard in
`promptApproveGlobalBuilds` and forwards `all: true` so `approve-builds`
skips its multiselect and confirm prompts. The post-approval install
then runs the same code path a real user hit, and the test asserts the
build artifacts ended up in the global install dir.

Replaces the narrower `--modules-dir=<abs>` regression test, which
only exercised the install layer and not the global-add flow that
originally surfaced the bug.

* test: enable global add -g + approve-builds e2e test on Windows

- Switch to @pnpm.e2e/install-script-example which is cross-platform.
- Use pathAbsolute for modulesDir to prevent doubled path bugs on Windows.
- Add path-absolute dependency to affected packages.

4d7cd56ccc chore: upgrade @typescript/native-preview to 7.0.0-dev.20260421.2 (#11332)
* chore: upgrade @typescript/native-preview to 7.0.0-dev.20260421.2

- Add explicit `types: ["node"]` to the shared tsconfig because tsgo
  20260421 no longer auto-acquires `@types/*` from `node_modules`.
- Refactor test files to explicitly import jest globals (`describe`,
  `it`, `test`, `expect`, `beforeEach`, etc.) from `@jest/globals`
  instead of relying on `@types/jest` ambient declarations. Under the
  new tsgo build, `import { jest } from '@jest/globals'` shadows the
  ambient `jest` namespace, breaking `@types/jest`'s `declare var
  describe: jest.Describe;` globals.
- Add `@jest/globals` to each package's devDependencies where tests
  now import from it, and add `@types/node` to packages that need it
  but were relying on hoisted resolution.
- Replace `fail()` calls with `throw new Error(...)` since `fail` is
  no longer globally available.

* chore: fix remaining tsgo type-strictness errors

- Strip `as <PnpmType>` casts on objects passed to toMatchObject /
  toStrictEqual / toEqual; @jest/globals rejects the typed objects
  (which include AsymmetricMatchers) vs. the repo-specific type.
- Type `jest.fn<...>()` explicitly where the mock's signature matters
  for toHaveBeenCalledWith.
- Replace `beforeEach(() => X)` with `beforeEach(() => { X })` so the
  return value is void, as the stricter jest typing requires.
- Use `expect.objectContaining({...})` in one place where the full
  expected object triggered stricter type resolution.
- Cast `prompt.mock.calls` arg through `as unknown as Record<...>[]`
  for patch.test.ts's nested-array matchers.
- Fix off-by-one `<reference path>` in pnpm/test/getConfig.test.ts
  that only surfaced now.
- Move `@jest/globals` from devDependencies to dependencies in the
  two `__utils__` packages that import it from `src/`.
- Clean up unused imports from the @jest/globals migration.

* chore: address Copilot review on #11332

- Move misplaced `@jest/globals` imports to the top import block in
  checkEngine, run.ts, and workspace/root-finder tests where the
  script dropped them below executable code.
- Replace `try { await x(); throw new Error('should have thrown') } catch`
  in bins/linker, lockfile/fs, and resolving/local-resolver tests with
  `await expect(x()).rejects.toMatchObject({...})`. The old pattern
  swallowed an unrelated `throw` if the under-test call silently
  succeeded, which would fail on the catch-block assertion with a
  misleading message.

aa93759d9b chore(release): drop eslint from lib prepublishOnly (#11320)
Library packages had `prepublishOnly: pn compile`, which expands to
`tsgo --build && pn lint --fix`. During `pn release` that runs eslint
against ~150 packages for no benefit — the code has already been linted
in CI and the release flow's upfront compile has already built dist/.
Switch lib prepublishOnly to a bare `tsgo --build` so the safety-net
compile stays but the per-package eslint cost is gone.

72c1e050e9 feat: add pnpm pack-app command for packing CJS entries into standalone executables (#11312)
* fix: give each runtime variant its own global virtual store entry

When a runtime package (e.g. node@runtime:X.Y.Z) uses a variations
resolution, createFullPkgId() in @pnpm/deps.graph-hasher was hashing
the whole VariationsResolution — the same hash on every host — so the
global virtual store path collided between variants. Whichever variant
installed first won, and a later `pnpm add --libc=musl node@runtime:<v>`
silently reused the cached glibc (or macOS/Windows) binary.

The fix threads supportedArchitectures down to createFullPkgId so the
selected variant's integrity is used as the package fingerprint. Two
related cleanups land with it:

- Extract the platform-variant selection logic to @pnpm/resolving.resolver-base
  as selectPlatformVariant/resolvePlatformSelector. The helper's libc
  match also required a fix: a variant with no libc is the "default"
  build, and a request for a non-default libc (e.g. musl) must require
  an exact match so the default variant doesn't silently win.
- @pnpm/installing.package-requester's findResolution now delegates to
  the shared helper, and the new supportedArchitectures param is plumbed
  through calcDepState / calcGraphNodeHash / iterateHashedGraphNodes /
  lockfileToDepGraph and their callers in deps-resolver, deps-restorer,
  deps-installer, graph-builder, and building.after-install.

* feat: add pnpm build-sea command for building Node.js SEA executables

Adds `pnpm build-sea` under @pnpm/releasing.commands. Takes a CommonJS
entry file and a set of target triplets (linux-x64, linux-x64-musl,
linux-arm64, linux-arm64-musl, macos-x64, macos-arm64, win-x64,
win-arm64) and produces a standalone executable per target under
dist-sea/<target>/.

Each target's Node.js runtime is fetched via `pnpm add node@runtime:<v>
--os=<os> --cpu=<arch> --libc=<libc>` into $PNPM_HOME/build-sea/<target>-<v>/
so binaries are hardlinked from the global content-addressable store and
`pnpm store prune` can reclaim them.

Requires Node.js v25.5+ to perform the --build-sea injection. If the
running Node is older, a v25 binary is downloaded and used as the builder
automatically. macOS outputs are ad-hoc signed with codesign (on macOS)
or ldid (when cross-compiling from Linux), which is required because SEA
injection invalidates the binary's existing signature.

* fix(build-sea): reject malformed --target, --output-name and use mkdtemp for config

Addresses Copilot review feedback on the build-sea command:

- parseTarget() previously destructured the target string, silently
  accepting extra `-` segments. Inputs like `linux-x64-musl-../../outside`
  would pass validation and flow into path.join. Validation is now done
  with a strict anchored regex.
- --output-name was passed into path.join() without sanitization, so a
  caller could escape the output directory with path separators or `..`.
  validateOutputName() now rejects anything that isn't a plain basename.
- The per-target SEA config file was written to a predictable path under
  os.tmpdir() (derived from the target name and Date.now()), which is
  unsafe on multi-user systems. It now lives inside a fresh mkdtemp()
  directory and is opened with the exclusive "wx" flag.
- New test cases cover extra-segment targets, uppercase/whitespace
  variants, and the full matrix of invalid --output-name inputs.

* rename: build-sea → pack-app

`build-sea` required knowing what a SEA is. `pack-app` is self-describing,
doesn't collide with pnpm's existing `bin` concept, and parallels the
existing `pack` command.

- Command name: build-sea → pack-app
- Default output dir: dist-sea → dist-app
- Error codes: PACK_APP_* (was BUILD_SEA_*)
- Export/type: packApp / PackAppOptions (was buildSea / BuildSeaOptions)
- Install cache dir: $PNPM_HOME/pack-app (was $PNPM_HOME/build-sea)

The Node.js `--build-sea` flag name itself is unchanged — that's a
Node.js feature and outside this project's naming.

* fix(pack-app): reject directory entries, pin builder to >=25.5, refuse macOS target on Windows

Addresses Copilot review feedback on the pack-app command:

- entry validation now rejects non-file paths (directories, symlinks to
  non-files) with a dedicated PACK_APP_ENTRY_NOT_FILE instead of
  surfacing a less actionable error later in the SEA build.
- DEFAULT_BUILDER_SPEC was the bare major ("25"), which would satisfy
  with 25.0.x if that version is still present — those point releases
  predate --build-sea support. Tightened to ">=25.5.0 <26.0.0" so the
  download is guaranteed to support the flag without ever crossing a
  major.
- adHocSignMacBinary() silently skipped re-signing on Windows hosts.
  Now throws PACK_APP_MACOS_SIGN_UNSUPPORTED_HOST with a hint to build
  the target on macOS/Linux or re-sign manually.
- resolvePlatformSelector() JSDoc now matches what the code actually
  does (picks the first entry when it is not "current"; later entries
  are ignored).
- New test case covers the directory-as-entry rejection.

* refactor(pack-app): switch target OS names to process.platform constants

Previously `pack-app` accepted `macos-*` / `win-*` as the OS portion of a
target triplet and translated them to `darwin` / `win32` internally. The
translation layer made the CLI surface inconsistent with the values that
`pnpm add --os=…` and `supportedArchitectures.os` already use, and added
a small footgun (e.g. users setting `supportedArchitectures: { os: [darwin] }`
but typing `macos-arm64` for pack-app).

The supported target OS set is now `linux | darwin | win32`, matching
`process.platform`. Old inputs like `macos-arm64` or `win-x64` now fail
validation with a clear error pointing to the new naming. The internal
parseTarget helper drops its TARGET_OS_MAP lookup entirely.

This is a change to an unreleased command so there is no back-compat
concern. pnpm's own artifact directory names (`pnpm/artifacts/macos-*/`,
`pnpm/artifacts/win-*/`) are an internal implementation detail and are
not affected by this change.

* feat(pack-app): read defaults from pnpm.app in package.json

Every pack-app flag (--entry, --target, --node-version, --output-dir,
--output-name) can now be preconfigured in the project's package.json
under a new "pnpm.app" object:

  {
    "name": "my-cli",
    "pnpm": {
      "app": {
        "entry": "dist/index.cjs",
        "targets": ["linux-x64", "darwin-arm64", "win32-x64"],
        "nodeVersion": "25",
        "outputDir": "release",
        "outputName": "my-cli"
      }
    }
  }

CLI flags always win. --target replaces the configured list rather than
appending, so a user can narrow the default set at the command line.

The config loader is strict: unknown keys under pnpm.app and any
type-mismatched values throw PACK_APP_INVALID_CONFIG so mistakes surface
at invocation time instead of silently being ignored.

Chose pnpm.app over pnpm.packApp because it's the shorter, cleaner
namespace for anything related to the app bundle (future sibling
commands like run-app / deploy-app could share the same object without
a naming clash). Chose package.json over pnpm-workspace.yaml because
the config is inherently per-project, whereas pnpm-workspace.yaml is
workspace-root-only.

* fix(pack-app): deterministic libc selection and stricter output-name validation

Addresses Copilot review feedback:

- ensureNodeRuntime() now always passes an explicit --libc for linux
  targets. Without a suffix, linux-x64 and linux-arm64 default to
  --libc=glibc instead of letting the user's supportedArchitectures.libc
  config or the host's detected libc decide the variant. The install
  cache directory mirrors this, so glibc and musl variants are always
  distinct (linux-x64-glibc vs linux-x64-musl).
- resolveBuilderBinary() now pins the host libc when downloading a
  builder Node on Linux. A user whose config sets supportedArchitectures.libc
  to musl no longer ends up with a musl Node that the glibc host cannot
  execute.
- validateOutputName() rejects Windows-invalid filename characters
  (<>:"|?* and NUL), Windows reserved device names (CON, NUL, COM1, etc.),
  and names ending in a dot or space — problems surface at invocation
  time rather than during writeFile(outputFile, ...) on Windows.
- lockfileToDepGraph variants tests no longer derive the "host"
  variant from process.platform/process.arch; they always pass an
  explicit supportedArchitectures selector so the expectations hold on
  any CI host (including Alpine/musl).

* chore: add "toctou" to cspell wordlist

`TOCTOU` (time-of-check-to-time-of-use) is the standard term for the
race-condition class the pack-app SEA-config comment describes. Adding
it to the wordlist unblocks the Lint CI step.

bcc88a1239 fix(sbom): resolve licenses for git-sourced dependencies (#11310)
* fix(sbom): resolve licenses for git-sourced dependencies

`readPackageFileMap` did not handle `type: 'git'` resolutions, causing
`pnpm sbom` to emit NOASSERTION and `pnpm licenses` to throw for any
dependency installed from a git URL.

Closes #11260

* fix: add missing store.cafs devDep, test tsconfigs, and size field

- Add @pnpm/store.cafs devDependency and tsconfig reference to
  license-scanner so CI typecheck resolves the PackageFilesIndex import
- Add test/tsconfig.json to pkg-finder so CI typechecks the new tests
- Add required `size` field to PackageFileInfo test fixtures

* fix: replace spellcheck-failing test strings

* fix: use spellcheck-safe integrity string in test

* style: fix import sort in pkg-finder test

* fix(sbom): use packageIdFromSnapshot to match store index keys

The SBOM used `snapshot.id ?? depPath` as the package ID, which
includes the package name prefix (e.g. `left-pad@git+https://...`).
The store index stores git packages under just the git URL without
the name prefix. Use `packageIdFromSnapshot` which strips the prefix,
matching how the licenses command already does it.

Also fixes test store keys to match the real installer layout so the
mismatch would have been caught by tests.

* refactor: move git resolution check after tarball check

Tarball resolutions are more common than type: 'git', so check them
first. Per review feedback from @zkochan.

61952c24ec fix(sbom): detect legacy licenses array and LICENSE files (#11255)
- `pnpm sbom` now recognizes the deprecated `licenses` array and falls back to scanning on-disk `LICENSE` files, matching the resolution already used by `pnpm licenses`. Fixes packages like `busboy`, `streamsearch`, `limiter` being reported as `NOASSERTION`.
- Root component scans the project directory for LICENSE files too, matching transitive-dep behavior.
- Shared license resolution lives in a new `@pnpm/deps.compliance.license-resolver` package, with `parseLicenseFromManifest`, `resolveLicense` (store-file-map), and `resolveLicenseFromDir` (on-disk scan).
- LICENSE-file-detected names are filtered against `SPDX_LICENSE_IDS` before being emitted to SBOM — long-form names like "Eclipse Public License 1.0" fall through to `NOASSERTION` rather than producing non-compliant SPDX. Manifest-declared licenses pass through untouched.
- When both `license` and `licenses` are set, the modern `license` wins (previously `pnpm licenses` preferred `licenses`).
- Close #11248.

ff28085997 fix: adapt audit client to npmjs /advisories/bulk endpoint (#11268)
The legacy `/-/npm/v1/security/audits{,/quick}` endpoints have been retired by npmjs.org. This PR rewires the audit client to the replacement `/-/npm/v1/security/advisories/bulk` endpoint.

The new endpoint is not a drop-in rename — the request and response contracts are both different:

- **Request**: a flat `{ pkgName: [versions] }` map. `lockfileToAuditRequest` walks the lockfile once and builds the POST body directly; there is no more nested `AuditTree`.
- **Response**: only `id`, `url`, `title`, `severity`, `vulnerable_versions`, and `cwe` per advisory. Everything else the old endpoint returned is computed locally:
  - `findings[].paths` are walked from the lockfile (skipped entirely when the response is empty; the second walk intentionally avoids `@pnpm/lockfile.walker`'s global dedup so alternate install chains to the same shared dep aren't dropped).
  - `metadata.vulnerabilities` counts advisories per severity.
  - `metadata.dependencies` / `devDependencies` / `optionalDependencies` / `totalDependencies` come from a classified lockfile walk; the classifier respects `--prod`/`--dev` include flags when deciding whether a subgraph is reachable non-optionally.
  - `patched_versions` is inferred from the vulnerable range for common `<X.Y.Z` / `<=X.Y.Z` shapes so `audit --fix` can still produce usable overrides; left `undefined` when inference fails.
  - `github_advisory_id` is parsed from the advisory URL and canonicalized to the github.com form (uppercase `GHSA-` prefix, lowercase suffix).
  - `info` severity is now supported end-to-end (severity type, `--audit-level`, filters, colors).

## Breaking changes (v11)

- Private registries that do not implement `/advisories/bulk` now fail with `AuditEndpointNotExistsError`.
- CVE-based filtering is replaced with GHSA-based filtering, since the bulk endpoint does not return CVE identifiers:
  - `auditConfig.ignoreCves` → `auditConfig.ignoreGhsas` (the old key is no longer recognized).
  - `pnpm audit --ignore <id>` and `--ignore-unfixable` now read and write GHSAs.
  - Migration: replace each `CVE-YYYY-NNNNN` in `auditConfig.ignoreCves` with the matching `GHSA-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx` (visible in the `More info` column of `pnpm audit` output) under `auditConfig.ignoreGhsas`.
- `--ignore-unfixable` now only targets advisories whose patched range couldn't be inferred — the only "no fix available" signal the bulk endpoint provides.
- `AuditReport` and `AuditAdvisory` are trimmed to just the fields the audit client actually populates:
  - `AuditReport`: `advisories` + `metadata` only (`actions` and `muted` removed).
  - `AuditAdvisory`: `findings`, `id`, `title`, `module_name`, `vulnerable_versions`, `patched_versions?`, `severity`, `cwe`, `github_advisory_id`, `url`. Dropped: `cves`, `created`, `updated`, `deleted`, `access`, `overview`, `recommendation`, `references`, `found_by`, `reported_by`, `metadata`.
  - `AuditAction`, `AuditResolution`, `AuditActionRecommendation` removed (no consumers).

## Hardening

- Response body validated: non-object / malformed JSON / non-array package buckets all surface as `ERR_PNPM_AUDIT_BAD_RESPONSE` with a body excerpt. Advisory `id` must be a finite number and `severity` must be a known value before being indexed.
- Name-keyed records use `Object.create(null)` so a hostile/unusual package name can't trigger prototype pollution.
- GHSA ids canonicalized on both read and write so casing drift between config and registry doesn't mask ignores.
- `findings[].paths` are deduped and capped per (name, version) to keep pathologically shared graphs from blowing up memory.

## Internals

- `AuditTree` / `AuditNode` / `lockfileToAuditTree` removed. `lockfileToAuditIndex.ts` exports `lockfileToAuditRequest` (flat POST body + counts) and `buildAuditPathIndex` (only invoked when the response has advisories).
- `AuditAdvisory.findings` is now `AuditFinding[]` (was an unintended 1-tuple).
- Top-level test fixtures regenerated from real `registry.npmjs.org` responses; synthetic `update-*` fixtures converted in place to bulk shape.

* feat: support versions, dist-tags, and time field selectors in pnpm view

The view command now exposes versions (as an array of version strings),
dist-tags, and time from registry metadata. Single-field --json output
returns the raw value instead of wrapping it in an object, matching npm
behavior. This allows tests to use pnpm view instead of npm view.
