Move the PR conflict resolution helper out of pnpm11/shell and into root shell/.
The helper is invoked by the git-wt PR hook and applies to whole-repo PR conflict resolution, including non-TypeScript changes, so it should not live under the TypeScript workspace.
The TypeScript pnpm CLI freezes at v11; pnpm 12 will be the Rust pacquet
port. To make that split legible, all TypeScript source, test, and build
directories move under a new top-level pnpm11/ directory. The name states
the version boundary rather than implying a behavioral fork, since the two
stacks are meant to behave identically.
Scope is source-only: the shared workspace root stays at the repo root.
pnpm-workspace.yaml, package.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, .pnpmfile.cjs,
.meta-updater, __patches__, .changeset, .husky, and the lint/spell configs
remain in place, so one pnpm workspace and one Cargo workspace still span
all three products. pnpr/client and pacquet/tasks/registry-mock stay as
cross-product workspace members.
Rewiring the move required:
- pnpm-workspace.yaml globs prefixed with pnpm11/
- root package.json script paths, eslint.config.mjs, tsconfig.lint.json,
.gitignore, and CODEOWNERS updated
- .meta-updater/src/index.ts literals repointed (pnpm11/pnpm/package.json,
pnpm11/__utils__, pnpm11/__typings__, and the main package directory)
- regenerated every moved package's repository/homepage URL via meta-updater
- pnpm11/pnpm/bundle-deps.ts and __utils__/scripts/src/typecheck-only.ts
climb one more level to reach the repo root
.meta-updater stays at the repo root because @pnpm/meta-updater resolves
its config at <cwd>/.meta-updater/main.mjs.
TS CI (.github/workflows/ci.yml) now only runs when pnpm11/-relevant paths
change, via a dorny/paths-filter changes job plus a TS CI / Success
aggregate gate; branch protection should require only that gate.
* chore: use @zkochan/git-wt package for worktree creation
Replace the in-repo `worktree:new` script and `shell/wt.*` helpers with
the published `@zkochan/git-wt` package. Contributors now install it
globally (`pnpm add -g @zkochan/git-wt`) and enable the `wt` shell
function via `git-wt init <shell>`, which also makes `git wt <branch>`
available as a native git subcommand.
* chore: remove shell/cleanup-worktrees.sh
Its functionality is now available as `git-wt cleanup` in the
@zkochan/git-wt package, which contributors are already being directed
to install in CONTRIBUTING.md.
* docs: give copy-paste install commands for the wt shell function
Previously CONTRIBUTING.md said "add this line to your config" and showed
the snippet, making contributors open the rc file themselves. Replace with
a one-liner per shell that appends to the rc file and activates `wt` in the
current session in one go.
* chore: upgrade @typescript/native-preview to 7.0.0-dev.20260421.2
- Add explicit `types: ["node"]` to the shared tsconfig because tsgo
20260421 no longer auto-acquires `@types/*` from `node_modules`.
- Refactor test files to explicitly import jest globals (`describe`,
`it`, `test`, `expect`, `beforeEach`, etc.) from `@jest/globals`
instead of relying on `@types/jest` ambient declarations. Under the
new tsgo build, `import { jest } from '@jest/globals'` shadows the
ambient `jest` namespace, breaking `@types/jest`'s `declare var
describe: jest.Describe;` globals.
- Add `@jest/globals` to each package's devDependencies where tests
now import from it, and add `@types/node` to packages that need it
but were relying on hoisted resolution.
- Replace `fail()` calls with `throw new Error(...)` since `fail` is
no longer globally available.
* chore: fix remaining tsgo type-strictness errors
- Strip `as <PnpmType>` casts on objects passed to toMatchObject /
toStrictEqual / toEqual; @jest/globals rejects the typed objects
(which include AsymmetricMatchers) vs. the repo-specific type.
- Type `jest.fn<...>()` explicitly where the mock's signature matters
for toHaveBeenCalledWith.
- Replace `beforeEach(() => X)` with `beforeEach(() => { X })` so the
return value is void, as the stricter jest typing requires.
- Use `expect.objectContaining({...})` in one place where the full
expected object triggered stricter type resolution.
- Cast `prompt.mock.calls` arg through `as unknown as Record<...>[]`
for patch.test.ts's nested-array matchers.
- Fix off-by-one `<reference path>` in pnpm/test/getConfig.test.ts
that only surfaced now.
- Move `@jest/globals` from devDependencies to dependencies in the
two `__utils__` packages that import it from `src/`.
- Clean up unused imports from the @jest/globals migration.
* chore: address Copilot review on #11332
- Move misplaced `@jest/globals` imports to the top import block in
checkEngine, run.ts, and workspace/root-finder tests where the
script dropped them below executable code.
- Replace `try { await x(); throw new Error('should have thrown') } catch`
in bins/linker, lockfile/fs, and resolving/local-resolver tests with
`await expect(x()).rejects.toMatchObject({...})`. The old pattern
swallowed an unrelated `throw` if the under-test call silently
succeeded, which would fail on the catch-block assertion with a
misleading message.

Library packages had `prepublishOnly: pn compile`, which expands to
`tsgo --build && pn lint --fix`. During `pn release` that runs eslint
against ~150 packages for no benefit — the code has already been linted
in CI and the release flow's upfront compile has already built dist/.
Switch lib prepublishOnly to a bare `tsgo --build` so the safety-net
compile stays but the per-package eslint cost is gone.
Add a "Resolving Conflicts in GitHub PRs" section to AGENTS.md with
step-by-step instructions for force-fetching refs, rebasing, resolving
lockfile conflicts, and verifying mergeability.
Add shell/resolve-pr-conflicts.sh that automates the workflow: fetches
metadata, force-updates the base ref, rebases, auto-resolves lockfile
conflicts via pnpm install, force-pushes, and verifies the result.
* fix: ensure PNPM_HOME/bin is in PATH during pnpm setup
When upgrading from old pnpm (global bin = PNPM_HOME) to new pnpm
(global bin = PNPM_HOME/bin), `pnpm setup` would fail because the
spawned `pnpm add -g` checks that the global bin dir is in PATH.
Prepend PNPM_HOME/bin to PATH in the spawned process env so the
check passes during the transition.

Adds a `pnpm worktree:new <branch>` script that creates a git worktree
as a sibling directory of the repo root, with branch slashes replaced by
dashes (e.g. `feat/foo` → `../feat-foo`). Shell helpers in `shell/wt.fish`
and `shell/wt.sh` wrap the script to also `cd` into the new worktree.
