update project-xeric to v2.0.0 (#9232)

* chore: performance improvements and cleanup

BREAKING CHANGES: This version uses an updated data storage format this
is incompatible with the previous version of the plugin. There is no
backward compatibility between this version and 1.2.0. Existing 1.2.0
and below data storage formats will be automatically updated upon first
login when using this version of the plugin.
