A getOrRecompute cache miss recomputes from the database with no ordering guard against invalidateAndRecompute: a compute whose read predates a migration commit can mset its result after the post-commit recompute, overwriting fresh data with a pre-commit snapshot that then survives until the next invalidation. Surfaced by example-app-postcard CI: the schema read after app sync randomly missed freshly created fields, no matter how long the assertion retried. Guard recomputes with a per-key generation counter: invalidation bumps it post-commit, and a recompute that observes a bump discards its result and retries once instead of caching it.
